Japanese Boxing

Japanese Boxing, also known as “Judo,” is a traditional martial art and sport that originated in Japan. It focuses on grappling techniques, including throws, joint locks, and pins, emphasizing the principle of using an opponent’s force against them. Developed by Jigoro Kano in the late 19th century, Judo combines physical skill, strategy, and mental discipline. Competitors engage in matches known as “shiai,” where they earn points for successful techniques and aim to score an ippon, which indicates a decisive victory. Judo is not only a competitive sport but also a means of personal development, promoting values like respect, humility, and perseverance. It is practiced worldwide and has also influenced various other martial arts.
