Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The primary objective of the game is to score goals by advancing a ball into the opposing team’s goal using any part of the body except the hands and arms, with the exception of the goalkeeper. The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Football is known by different names in various regions, with “soccer” being the term primarily used in countries like the United States and Canada to distinguish it from other forms of football, such as American football and rugby football. The sport is immensely popular worldwide and is governed internationally by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), which organizes major tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup. Football has a rich history and has evolved into the most popular sport globally, with millions of players and fans engaging in its many forms and variations.
