Fotbal

Fotbal, known as football or soccer in various regions, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. Players primarily use their feet to maneuver the ball, although they can use any part of their body except their arms and hands (goalkeepers are an exception).

The game is played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. It is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Fotbal is one of the most popular sports worldwide, characterized by its simplicity, accessibility, and ability to unite people across cultures and nations. Major international competitions include the FIFA World Cup and continental tournaments like the UEFA European Championship.

The term „fotbal“ is derived from the English word „football,“ and it is used in various languages, particularly in European countries. The sport is not only a competitive activity but also a significant cultural phenomenon, inspiring passion among fans and communities globally.
