Football

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The game takes place on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. The primary objective is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. Players predominantly use their feet to control and propel the ball, although they can use any part of their body except their arms and hands. Goalkeepers are allowed to use their hands within a designated area known as the penalty box.

Football is governed by a set of rules called the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The sport is known for its global popularity, with millions of fans and participants around the world. It is played at various levels, from amateur and youth leagues to professional and international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, which is one of the most widely viewed sporting events globally. Football emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, making it a dynamic and highly engaging sport.
